THE HO ENG HONG FUND
The Ho Eng Hong Fund is dedicated to the memory of Mr Ho Eng Hong, and his spirit of learning and resilience.
Mr Ho came from a small fishing village in Sumatra, Indonesia, after World War II, to study in Singapore. He attended both English and Chinese medium schools, and became effectively trilingual, on top of various Chinese dialects. He enjoyed wide ranging interests, from reading, music and sports, to nature, gardening, animals and the breeding of rare guppies.
The Ho Eng Hong Fund supports learning and research opportunities, especially in multi-lingualism; music, dance and sports; actuarial sciences; nature, bird, fish and wildlife conservation; and emerging and new technologies.
